Dance Necklace
The Umhlanga (also known as the Reed Dance) takes place in August or early September each year.This dance attracts girls from all regions of United States and provides an opportunity for them to honor and pay tribute to Queen Mother (Indlovukazi).
Most girls are involved in his adolescence, even if there are younger girls who take part. During the first week, the girls gather reeds from designated areas, some young travel a great distance, leaving the youngest to collect reeds near their homes.
The girls wear short skirts accounts decorated with fringes and buttons, as well as anklets, bracelets, necklaces and belt colors.
