What is the typical dress code for ballet?

I know you have to wear tights and a leotard; but can you wear a bra and panties? I'm small chested, so I'm not worried about needing a whole lot of support in that area, but I'm just worried about showing through.

Also: I can't tie my hair in a bun, it is way too short (it's a pixie cut). Would dance instructors object to that? :/ I know it sounds silly, but I'm just wondering.

you can wear a bra and panties, but its not recommended ( for good reasons).

and for your hair, you should use a hairband or pin it back. there is a reason why most people wear a bun.
